Hi Gery,

interesting Plane...
is this a "pitot-pipe" on the tail to measure the airspeed?
If yes, it would be interesting to compare the measured airspeed
with the groundspeed (radargun) and the windspeed.
Wich airfoil did you use?

Looking forward to see a video of the FF in action.

kind regards, martin

for the information, Gery

I can't open the eagle-tree-file... but it could also be a problem with my
own system.
The MH30 is a good & fast airfoil (Front- and Backside) in my opinion... i wonder why we see so few DS-Planes with this airfoil.

I'm eager to hear about the performance of the F&F...

wish you good flying!

I had a structural failure of
fuselage was built 80g glass, 120gKevlar, 110 glass
if anyone has any advice for the construction write

Hi Mazzola!

Wow - really nice speed, congrats to you!

Is updated: http://www.dynamic-soaring.de/european_ds_speeds.htm

Please tell us more! Do you have videos? Do you lost the model?

Fuselage: take lots of cfk! Diagonal and unidirectional ;)

Hi, Artur

You can call me Gery
the model I have found about 700 meters away,
for the moment I do not have the video .
If you are interested send files google earth where the slopes are listed

Hi Gerry,

it´s hard or even imposible to tell about the reason of your failure without any further information or pics.
Gernerally they layup of your fuse is very light for a DS-plane, even for a slope-plane.
I do built the fuses of my 2m-plane with a layup of 500-700g/m² clothes overall and addional clothes in the front of the fuse. Both kevlar(glass) and carbon fuses do have those dimenions.

Cheers,
Arne

Hi Gerry,

sorry to hear about the crash...
would be nice to see a video, if possible.
at wich location did you fly?
was your speed mentioned the airspeed measured with the pitot-pipe?

wish you good good luck with building the new one... since i'm more the flyer i can't really help you with construction tips, but the guys here in the forum definetely can.

Cheers Martin

Hi Gery,

great Spots you fly in Italy! When do you expect high speeds over there. What is the main direction for the winds in typical seasons like spring, summer, fall?
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Gery,

thanks for the info on the spots... some look really interesting.

well, since i have a "Nero d' Avola"-addiction i might visit Sicilia
once in the future... not only for drinking, mainly for flying...:D

Hey Gery!

Thanks for posting!

A new PB for you - congratulations! We´ll update the speed-list, thank you for your email!

Did you use a new fuselage? Do you have a video? Nice speed - and nice location on the photo! Way to go - the 250 mph will come!

Hi, Artur

the model in order to fly weighs 2.330 g
I think I can reach a weight of 3,000 g with super ballast.

The new fuselage is bullet proof, built in Kevlar / glass

G.110+K.120+K.120+K.120+K. u.d. 200+G.110

just going to fly you send pictures of the slope mount Kumeta

I made this video is not good, the model can be seen for short, I try to compact the file to insert it in the forum

Wow Gery, thats awesome!!! Congratulations for that speed!
You are doing pretty well down there in Italy! Keep going for 400, it's not far away!

It is nice to read that you build your own airframe, too! Good job! Are you doing everything on your own, or do you have some friends DSing as well?

We are really excited to get more information about your spot, it seems to be really good!!!

Hi,Jaromir

I realize the molds of my models from about 15 years.
I practiced the category F5B/10 cell for several years, the best result 3rd place in the Italian League
from about 5 years we are a group of friends who fly in and slope ds without limit.

Hi,

from google your site looks great!!! Monte Kumeta, I guess you walk up to the top of the mountain, is that right? How is landing possible?
"Fly only few days at year because strong wind!" - Nice comment, when do we have to go there to get strongest wind possible? :-))))

South Italy, a place I wanted to go anyway some time.

Montagna Longa I cant find in the google file, can you explain where this is?

Dietmar

PS.: Would you mind some german visitors?

Hi,

Monte kumeta can be reached at the top by car
fly all l 'year, the wind is strong in winter and spring, not summer grass. carrier-style landing with strong wind is very easy .

Try a search on google hearth: carini montagna longa disastro aereo.

both slopes carrier-style landing with strong wind is very easy .

Hmm, I need minimum 48h ahead to book a flight. BTW.: what are the closest airports?

Is the wind local or can we get the forecast from the GFS modell? So the question is how to find the right slot.

Dietmar

Hi, Artur
now at work, the wing textreme 2x240g (mountain of fear):D
are the first experiences with textreme, the picture is beautiful but in reality there are a lot of bubbles between glass 80g and textreme 240g.
have the solution for the problem for bubbles ?

Hi Gery!

It is very important, that you put first all(!) the resin you need for each layer in the mould and lay up the first layer of spreadtow in the resin.
Give time to the fabrics to wet them self!!!
Than take a DRY roller or DRY brush and work the resin from underneath the fibre though the fiber. You may use a thin plastic foil to protect the fiber agains the mecanical work.

To make shure with the amount of resin: take the same weight of resin and (carbon)spreadtow.

The vacuum should not exceed -0,85mbar (or 150mbar absolute)!

Regards

Tobias

PS.: You don't need a thin glas-layer!
PPS.: Sorry for my English!

Hi Tobias,

Thanks for the advice
removing the glass fabric 80g, the bubbles decreased. Carbon and more beautiful.
we talked on the forum rc-network to t use resin + TIXO for textreme
What do you think ?
