Hello to the European DSers!. My apologies, I am in Australia so my query is in English! I can't speak German! But my daughter speaks some (she has been in Germany just recently staying with various friends) so she may be able to help me if you reply in German!
A small group of us do some DSing over here in Australia. Our friend Ezza holds the Aussie record with his Opus MC3 (250mph). But I'm not so good yet, and I have a big family so I don't want to spend lots of money. Also our slopes and wind are not very good for DS, so it is unlikely that I would often get the chance to would like to buy a plane which is very nice to fly in normal frontside slope conditions, but is also able to DS up to 200mph or so, without breaking.
I have had a thread about this question: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=817025
Can I ask for your advice about European DS planes? I am searching for a special composite plane to combine the best soaring and aerobatics on the front slope, but also able to do excellent DS, but I don't expect to go over 200mph with it.
I am not keen (yet) to get an Opus. I know it's incredible for DS but I'd like something a bit lighter and more agile in lighter wind, so I can use it on more days. Possibly something like a Carbon Blade 2M, but I'd prefer a T tail or X tail. But not too expensive.
I have been looking at some European planes on the internet, especially the Pace DSE, from Lesky Composites and it looks nice but I can't find any opinions from people who have DS'ed it. Do you guys know anything about it? Is it OK for medium DS, or is it too fragile??
One problem is that with the language difference I can't do much research about European planes! If you can suggest any others I would appreciate it.
Thanks very much! Andrew von Berky, Brisbane Australia.
